Interpol @ Bill Graham Civic Auditorium

October 20, 2007

$45 (there were tickets at the door for $33, wut?)

I saw hardcore fans camped out in line around 11am, real talk (actually some had been there since 9pm the day before!). I wanted to go early for a good spot but didn't get to. I guess it worked out ok cuz the no camera policy was extra in effect. How lame (almost as bad as The Liars)

The screen and projo were a distraction but they were only used a couple of times. I stood on the Kessler side which is bombdiggy, my man always delivers. Paul was very impressive on vocals, more than I remembered or expected. Mostly Carlos D. hung back or around the drums (he may have been sick) so I feel bad for the people to the right, having to vibe to the keyboardist. Actually the action was most definitely center right, hyphy. The ever gracious Sam walked out on stage to the mic at the end and said "you guys are the f-ing best audience", like real emotional. That's love

This band exudes pure coolness (why does smoking on stage look soo rad), it's been too long since a proper show (BFD sucked). The set list was pretty damn ideal though in retrospect there was no "Public Pervert" or "A Time To Be Small" (or "Leif Erikson") and of course never no "NYC"

Great review and videos. Only just got around to putting up my review of the MSG show, I got completely lost in how amazing they were.

But you didn't have a "huge fucking screen" blocking your view for the beginning!
